A farmer at heart, Malcolm was manager of Louth Park Farms from 1973, a business purchased by Booker Farming Limited (BFL) in 1980. He became MD of BFL, established contract farming in the UK and developed an in depth understanding of landowners. He increased the area farmed from 17,000 to 50,000 acres in 10 years and was part of the MBO team that purchased BFL from Booker plc in April 1996. He successfully sold the company to the Cooperative Farms in 1998 and became Director of Business Development, farming over 100,000 acres. On leaving, Malcolm set up The McAllister Partnership which remains a Rural Business Consultancy where we developed both Wind Energy and AD for clients. He established Farm Renewables in 2010.
